The Town of Saxis also known as Saxis Island, is located in Accomack County on Virginia's Eastern Shore and is one of the last few hidden gems situated on the Chesapeake Bay that has not succumbed to waterfront condos or expansive hotels. You can still find local watermen at the docks unloading their catch to oyster buyers and crab shantys.  Take a break from the daily fast pace of life with hectic schedules and traffic to discover a style of life filled with charm and hospitality, but also reflects the hard work of the residents to preserve this way of life.
